The ***NEW*** Rocket Man's Elton John Site

Elton John was born Reginal Dwight on March 25, 1947 in Pinner, England. His father was in the Roayl Air Force and was often away from home. Elton was brought up by his mother, grandmother and aunt. His first band was called Bluesology which backed visting American soul stars. In 1965, the recorded Elton's song "Come Back Baby", it was'nt a hit. In 1967, he left Bluesology and met up with Bernie Taupin, a lyric writter from Lincolshire. It took the 3 years to write a hit song. It was "Your Song". Elton's first American debut was in Los Angles. Elton got rave reviews from such writters like Robert Hilburn of the LA Times. In the following years, Elton released and recorded 7 #1 albums like "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and "Captain Fantastic". In 1976, in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Elton confessed to bi-sexuality. From 1977-1982 was called the wilderness years. Elton went back into the studio in 1983 to record his LP "Too Low For Zero".

While recording this album, he met studion engineer Renate Blaue. They were later married in 1984 in Australia. The marriage however didnt last long. In 1984 they divorced. It was Eltons last attempted at a hetrosexual life-style. In 1990, Elton entered a Chicago hospital to beat a long time additcion to drugs and alcohol. In 1992, Elton went into the studio to record "The One", his first album since "Sleeping With The Past" in 1989. In 1994, Elton found a way to reach the next generation. Working wtih Tim Rice, they wrote the soundtrack to the "Lion King". For which Elton won an oscar for the hit song "Can You Feel The Love Tonight". Elton has been involved with other musical projects also, like "Aida", and the "South Park" album. Also there is to be another studio album out in the year 2000. Also another animation move "El Dorrado".
