The Arena
April 16, 1989
Verona, Italy

This was one of the truly great concerts given by Elton in the late 1980's. For the set, he chose to take a look back at the early days playing songs from his 'Elton John' album, 'Tumbleweed Connection', 'GoodbyeYellow Brick Road' and 'Dont Shoot Me Im Only Piano Player' LPs. Then he went into his later music from the 1980's with songs like "Kiss The Bride", "Sad Songs", and "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues". He also played stuff from the current album like "A Word In Spanish", "Mona Lisas and Madhatters Part Two", and "I Dont Wanna Go On Like That". For Mona Lisas...Part Two, him and the band added on an extened version featureing all the instruments of the band w/ few ad libs by Elton. And we cant forget the rockers like "Im Still Standing", "Philadelphia Freedom" and "Saturday Nights Alright". Elton wore a lime-green suit with a multi-colored hat with a designer undershirt.. For the encores, be came back out with the same lime-green suit with a black undershirt and nehru style cap.
